Icon meme! Modified, because I do that.

Okay, having 94 icons uploaded to Dth, I'm finally going to do the icon meme! Only, because the usual form depends on user interaction to get the squee started, I'm modifying it.

I have posted here six of my icons that I think are awesome. (Not my favorites, because I have more than six of those.) Tell me in the comments which of my icons YOU think are coolest... or, you know, just chatter. I will reply to your comment and tell you which of your icons I like best (possibly also asking if they are gankable), and then you can if you want repost this in your journal with my choices or your own, and make more icon squee! Please?

Oooh, look at all these icons! Okay, let me give this a shot. In no particular order, the six that call out to me are:

1)Kevin Kline as the Pirate King. I *love* this production of Pirates of Penzance.

2) Illya with the "explosion soon please." Makes me smile. I am a big fan of Man from U.N.C.L.E., and Illya is my favorite.

3) Three and Sarah, the one where he is carrying her. I like it because it's the Doctor and Sarah, natch. :D

4) "I may not have gone where I intended to go" quote, because Dirk Gently is awesome, as is Douglas Adams. A marvelous quote.

5) Action figures of Rassilon. I like this icon so much, I have it myself. (Currently not in the rotation, though.)

6) Harry Sullivan icon. Ditto to the above.

Lots and lots of honorable mentions, such as the "time is an illusion" quote icon, and the blue glacier icon which is frankly gorgeous. I also liked Thumper. I'm not particularly into MacGuyver and have barely seen any of the Stargate shows, so that limited my ability to really appreciate those icons.

You are welcome to try to pick out six of my icons, but I should warn you that I am cheap and have a free account, so I only get to house 15 icons at a time. I occasionally move icons in and out of the rotation, like the two we have in common from hhertzof which are currently sitting on my computer, have been used in the past and will get brought in again sometime in the future. However, if you want to try to pick out 6 from only 15, or perhaps just share your 2-3 favorites, I'd love to hear your opinion.

Ooh, interesting choices!

I'd love to help spread the icon squee by re-posting this, but I have an embarrassing question to ask you first: how do you get the icons to show up in the post? I know how to link to an image at a URL; do you have to load them onto an image-hosting site, such as photobucket or something, first? (I have no image-hosting site.) Or is there a way to link to where DW already has them uploaded?

You can link them directly from your Dreamwidth icons page. Just right-click the one you want to link, click "copy image location" on the pop-up menu, then paste the URL into the image-posting dialog box just like normal.
