A bit of an odd request
Sep. 4th, 2010 07:56 amSo my very first published fanfic, Velocizompire Apocalypse, has apparently been nominated for the First Annual Gatefic Awards.
(No, I don't know for sure who nominated it... but I'd like to say "thank you" here, in the reasonably well-founded suspicion that the nominator will see the thanks. Wouldyou anyone like to confirm or deny complicity, btw? *wink*)
Here's the point of this post: VZA is only posted on FFnet. I've recently been seeing some rumors about FFnet being even more evil than usual. Therefore I'd like to put VZA on Archive Of Our Own (that being apparently the most reliable and reputable archiving location) so I can send the awards team the new link when I confirm.
I am not on AO3. Does anyone seeing this have a spare AO3 invite code, or know of a place I could find one? I have till Sept 10 to confirm my nomination, so I'm in a tad bit of a hurry. I will send virtual cookies! ;-)
Thank you all very much for being my flist! :D *hugs you all*

Date: 2010-09-04 06:26 pm (UTC)I like their interface, but I've ended up not using the archive; I think I put up maybe three or four items and stopped. There's so little traffic that I have no motivation to post more -- the same experience I had with Fan Nation. Evil or not, ff.net is where the readers are, and I want the readers.
I hadn't heard anything about the Evilness described. I'd like to hear more than a rumour before I assume that ff.net is being actively awful instead of simply lame. (Their author interface stinks, but that's not evil, just lame.)
Truth to tell, I reported a junk story to ff.net a while back, and it's still there; so the single test case I have at hand doesn't support the rumour.

(Was it you that nominated me, btw? I mean, I'm just curious... no need to answer if you'd rather not.)

(On another topic, I hope you're setting up your Dreamwidth journal to auto-post back to LJ, pretty please? I don't particularly want to bother with setting up a whole other account just because half my friends are on one site and half on another... but I insist on keeping up with you, Clocket, et alia.)
